Royal Air Force/RAAF Edinburgh Field

Life with the Handley Page Hastings usually meant a 24/7/365 lifestyle, can you share your experiences

What does UAH mean to you UKMAMs guys?

Yes of course UK-Australia-Hastings, UAH had priority shipment over any other cargo I was once informed, anyone wish to confirm this?

The supplies were taken to RAAF Edinburgh Field for onward movement to Maralinga/Woomera

If anyone is 'a little shy' in coming forward on here there is always the Private Messaging system [PM] by clicking on my profile page, but remember the '30 year rule' has long passed and you can no longer be shot at dawn !smile

An email received a while back

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John, I came across your web entries on the above.
My father was flying Hastings planes from lyneham thence Australia during the period of atomic tests, and I think to the Christmas islands. His log book has been blanked for the period. He refuses to talk about this time. He is 84 and in ok health. If you're still active in researching what went on, I could talk to him? What is your current interest?
