Certainly 48 Squadron from RAF Changi was involved in this 'war', were you part of it?

The continuing Communist incursion in Malaya during operation Firedog this operation lasted until 1960 and the Hastings main base, especially from 1957 involved HP Hastings of 48 Squadron, RAF Changi. Other secondments from the UK supplemented this operation.
