I have tried to establish a list of those aircraft that were scrapped in 1959 due to the imminent entry into RAF service of the Brittania . So far I have narrowed it down to twelve potential registrations mainly by using simple deduction and usually based on photographs or sightings of aircraft subsequent to 1959. So if anyone is able to help with where I have gone wrong it would be most appreciated.
I have questions regarding the ten aircraft.
Q1 Were they being held at a single facility and scrapped there, or from various different locations. Aston Down is a probable good bet as many were stored there.
Q2 It is stated that they were bought for scrap, is that what actually happened to them all or did some become training airframes.
Q3 I remember seeing somewhere pictures of externally stored and cacooned Hastings parked at Aston Down, were these some of the aircraft sold under this fleet reduction plan.

Thanks for that list Richard, according to Tim Senior's book 'Hastings' ISBN 978-1-905414-07-9 Dalrymple & Verdun, TG512 was sent to Tangmere, probably after Aldershot
