Scrapped Hastings

In 1959 a total of 10 Hastings aircraft were bought for scrap by R J Coley limited after the RAF had taken delivery of Bristol Britannias.

I have tried to establish a list of those aircraft that were scrapped in 1959 due to the imminent entry into RAF service of the Brittania . So far I have narrowed it down to twelve potential registrations mainly by using simple deduction and usually based on photographs or sightings of aircraft subsequent to 1959. So if anyone is able to help with where I have gone wrong it would be most appreciated.

I have questions regarding the ten aircraft.

Q1 Were they being held at a single facility and scrapped there, or from various different locations. Aston Down is a probable good bet as many were stored there.
Q2 It is stated that they were bought for scrap, is that what actually happened to them all or did some become training airframes.
Q3 I remember seeing somewhere pictures of externally stored and cacooned Hastings parked at Aston Down, were these some of the aircraft sold under this fleet reduction plan.

1. TG512 Wingless Aldershot 27Mar1960.
2. TG515
3. TG554
4. TG555
5. TG558
6. TG573 RAF Kidbrooke, South East London as 7594M.
7. TG578
8. TG585
9. TG586
10. TG601 Sent to RAF Pengham Moors, Cardiff .
11. TG609
12. TG617 To RAF Old Sarum for use by the Air Portability School.

In addition an unidentified aircraft, which may be one of those listed above, was sent to Deerbolt Army Camp, Darlington for use as an Air Portability Training airframe.

Thanks for that list Richard, according to Tim Senior's book 'Hastings' ISBN 978-1-905414-07-9 Dalrymple & Verdun, TG512 was sent to Tangmere, probably after Aldershot
