I spent around a year at RAF Lyneham, and loved it.

By then I was married and we had a hiring in the older part of Swindon.

There were a few hazings there at the time.

One in particular had a distinctive smell and we didn't need to look at the tail number to know that it had brought back bodies from Egypt during the 1956 Suez Crisis.

Apart from that I don't remember much about the 'Lyneham Hastings' - they were I suppose, just another job!
