TG580 48 Squadron Changi crashed at Gan on 3rd July 1959, all on board survived [photo from S/Ldr BillW, taken from a Britannia on take off from Gan] I have several photos of this accident. I also have a first hand report from fellow forum member Eric Sumsion who was aboard when 580 crashed, that is to follow....

RAF Gan seemed like a good place to dump 48 Squadron [Changi] aircraft, I know of two Hastings crashes and two 'fire dump' Hastings

Gerry Robinson kindly permitted me to use these two pictures of TG520 which was despatched to RAF Gan in 1967 for fire practice purposes, Gerry informs me that the undercarriage levers were raised to ground the aircraft, incoming visitors in transit might not have been too impressed at first sighthmm
