My first flight in a Hastings aircraft from RAF Lyneham

24th July 1953 TG530 2.00 hrs/mins Cross Country Flying I was 14 years and 10 days old and a new member of 2189 [Calne] Squadron ATC, the world was my oystersmile

That fine photo of TG 530 came from Joe Gertler in Florida.

I too received a copy from him.

Apparently sometime crashlanded having suffered tail wheel problems, a rigger informs me that for some while until modifications could be carried out the tailwheel was fixed in the down position, 530 was repaired
